Colliers agrees appointment of leading valuation team to its Norway business
Norway, 01.07.2024 – Colliers Nordics is expanding the services offered to their clients with the recruitment of 5 highly experienced individuals that together constitute a top tier team. They are joining Colliers from Cushman and Wakefield Realkapital where they operated for 10 years. This will position Colliers among industry leaders within valuation and strategic advisory of commercial real estate. The new service to be offered by Colliers Valuation & Advisory.
This strategic decision will significantly enhance Colliers Nordics’ capabilities, allowing the firm to offer a broader range of services and enhance the value provided to domestic and international clients.
“We are strengthening the expertise of the Nordics team, and I am very pleased and enthusiastic about the recruitment of some of the best talent in the industry. Given our strong position in the Nordics, this initiative is part of our strategy to become an even more comprehensive provider of transactions and financing advisory services. This move is a response to market dynamics, and it exemplifies our commitment to being enterprising even in a subdued market. We are taking this opportunity to look to the future and select the best talent in the market – always with an eye on what our clients need,” said Bård Bjølgerud, CEO | Nordics & Partner.
Valuation and strategic advisory expertise are in strong demand and growth. Most real estate investors and landlords need regular external opinions of their asset values, both related to their existing portfolios, but also in relation to potential divestments and acquisitions. Also, considering various financing options and optimal capital structure, third party/external valuation of assets and strategic alternatives play a very important role in the decision-making processes, both for local and international investors. Understanding asset values and future potential and risks of specific properties and portfolios, represent an important part of the value chain, both before and after investment decisions. Furthermore, in periods where opinions on asset value diverge due to turbulent market conditions and lower activity, understanding the market fundamentals and outlooks is a competence not always easily available. Colliers plays a key role in the Nordic property markets, and strengthening our teams within valuation and strategic advisory will help our clients to get an even more comprehensive and complete service palette from one firm covering the pan-Nordic markets and all commercial real estate segments.
Davoud Amel-Azizpour, CEO | EMEA, added: “Expanding our service offering to include a top-tier Nordic valuation team was a significant priority for Colliers. Our ongoing mission is to attract the best talent - enhancing the services we provide to our clients, both locally and globally, while simultaneously expanding the opportunities available to our people. I am confident the team will establish a successful service line in the Nordics with the benefit of our global platform behind them.”
Bård Bjølgerud concluded: “As experts in their field, many of the team are well-known to their new Colliers colleagues, but we look forward to being able to officially welcome them to Nordics business after the summer.”
